We’re Lachie and Emma, and Garden on Glenora is our home in Cawarral, Central Queensland, where we grow, trial and learn from a diverse range of food plants and growing systems.
Our focus is simple: how can we grow meaningful amounts of food, reliably, in our dry-subtropical climate?
We're particularly interested in productive, resilient crops that can handle heat, extended dry periods and the realities of our climate. We draw from food forestry, smallholder agriculture, horticulture, ecological design and growing knowledge from around the world — using what works for our conditions rather than following any one system.
Garden on Glenora is a work in progress. We experiment, observe, record what we can, learn from what succeeds and what fails, and share what we discover through our workshops, tours, plants and resources.
At the heart of it is a belief that there is real value in households becoming active food producers again — building practical skills, knowledge and greater resilience in their own food supply.
